Sous Chef - Portuguese Cuisine
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at a popular Portuguese restaurant in Almada. As a Sous Chef, you will assist the Head Chef in creating and executing delicious and authentic Portuguese dishes while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in designing menus and creating new dishes
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating
- Ensure that all dishes are prepared according to recipes and restaurant standards
- Train and supervise kitchen staff, delegating tasks as needed
- Maintain inventory levels and order supplies as necessary
- Monitor food costs and minimize waste
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a Sous Chef in a high-volume restaurant or hotel setting
- Extensive knowledge of Portuguese cuisine, including traditional dishes, ingredients, and techniques
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate kitchen staff
- Excellent communication skills to effectively work with other chefs, servers, and management team
- Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible schedule to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Salary: $1600 per month (negotiable based on experience)
