The Eldoret Public Library is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Librarian to join our team. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of library operations, including cataloging, collection development, and reader services. You will work closely with the community to promote literacy and lifelong learning, as well as assist patrons in finding and accessing resources.

Responsibilities:
- Organize and maintain library materials using proper cataloging and classification systems
- Develop and maintain a diverse collection of resources to meet the needs of the community
- Assist patrons in locating materials and providing reference services
- Plan and implement programs and activities to promote literacy and encourage reading among all ages
- Collaborate with local schools, organizations, and community groups to provide outreach services
- Train library staff on new technology or resources as needed
- Manage library budget and procure necessary supplies
- Maintain accurate records of library circulation, usage, and statistics

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Knowledge of cataloging systems such as Dewey Decimal or Library of Congress classification
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with a diverse community of patrons
- Passion for promoting literacy and lifelong learning
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
- Proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Office and online databases

This is a full-time position with a salary of $1800 per month. We are open to all nationalities but require fluency in English. No previous experience is necessary as we provide on-the-job training. Accommodation is provided for the first 3 months while you settle into your new role.
