Librarian for a Library in Nairobi, Kenya

The ideal candidate for this role will be a passionate and knowledgeable Librarian with experience working in a library setting. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing the library's collection, assisting patrons with research and information requests, and promoting library resources and services. You must have excellent organizational skills, be detail-oriented, and possess strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the library's collection by cataloging, shelving, and organizing materials
- Assist patrons with research inquiries and provide guidance on how to use library resources
- Promote library resources and services through outreach programs and events
- Collaborate with other librarians to develop and implement new programs and initiatives
- Maintain accurate records of library materials, circulation statistics, and patron interactions
- Develop collection development plans in collaboration with the library team
- Stay updated on industry trends and new technologies to improve library services

Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Library Science or Information Science (or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a library setting preferred
- Strong knowledge of library practices, cataloging systems, and reference tools
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
- Familiarity with emerging technologies used in libraries is an asset

Salary: $1500 per month

Location: Nairobi, Kenya
