Interpreter (English-French)


We are seeking a skilled English-French Interpreter to join our team in Akron. As an Interpreter, you will be responsible for interpreting verbal communication between English and French speakers in a variety of settings. This may include business meetings, legal proceedings, medical appointments, and other situations where language barriers may exist.

Requirements:
- Fluent in both English and French
- Proven experience as an interpreter or similar role
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of cultural differences and sensitivity when interpreting
- Flexible schedule to accommodate different time zones and work hours
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and remain impartial during communication

Responsibilities:
- Interpret verbal communication between English and French speakers accurately and efficiently
- Act as a cultural mediator to ensure effective communication between parties
- Remain impartial and maintain confidentiality during all interactions
- Adapt interpretation style to fit the needs of the situation (e.g. simultaneous, consecutive, whispered)
- Provide accurate translations of written documents as needed
- Conduct research on specialized terminology when necessary to ensure accurate interpretation
- Collaborate with other interpreters or team members when working on longer or more complex assignments

Salary:
The salary for this position is $1500 per month.

Location:
This position is based in Akron. While preference will be given to candidates who are currently located in Akron or nearby cities, we welcome applications from qualified individuals from any location.
