Job Title: Executive Chef - Funchal, Madeira
We are hiring an experienced Executive Chef to join our team in Funchal, Madeira. As the Executive Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our kitchen operations and leading our culinary team to deliver exceptional dining experiences to our guests.
Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain seasonal menus that reflect our restaurant's concept and showcase local ingredients
- Manage food ordering, inventory, and cost control to ensure profitability
- Train and develop kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques, menu items, and safety procedures
- Ensure all dishes are prepared and presented according to company standards
- Monitor food quality and consistency by regularly tasting dishes during service
- Collaborate with front-of-house team to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction
- Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new techniques or menu items into our offerings
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked kitchen at all times
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a high-volume restaurant setting
- Familiarity with various cooking techniques and cuisines
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to oversee multiple tasks simultaneously
- Knowledge of food costing, inventory management, and menu development
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Must be eligible to work in Funchal without sponsorship
Salary:
We offer a competitive salary of 1500$ per month for this position.
