Executive Chef - Funchal, Madeira, Portugal
We are seeking a talented and experienced Executive Chef to join our team in Funchal, Madeira. As an Executive Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our kitchen operations and maintaining the high standards of food quality and presentation that our restaurant is known for.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and develop creative menus that reflect the local cuisine and seasonal ingredients
- Manage and train kitchen staff to ensure efficient and smooth operation
- Oversee food production, including preparation, cooking, and plating of dishes
- Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards at all times
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure excellent customer service
- Handle administrative tasks such as budgeting, scheduling, and maintaining records
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a high-end restaurant environment
- Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques and trends
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train a team
- Strong communication skills in English (Portuguese is a plus)
- Must have a valid biometric passport
- Accommodation will be provided
