Executive Chef
We are in search of a talented and experienced Executive Chef to join our team in the vibrant city of Lisbon. As an Executive Chef, you will be responsible for creating and executing innovative menus, overseeing kitchen operations, and managing a team of culinary professionals.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement creative menus that reflect local flavors and seasonal ingredients
- Ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of taste, presentation, and quality
- Oversee all kitchen operations including food preparation, cooking, and plating
- Manage inventory levels and order supplies as needed to maintain efficiency and cost-effectiveness
- Train and mentor kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques, sanitation practices, and safety procedures
- Collaborate with restaurant management to plan special events or promotions
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to health codes and company policies
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role as an Executive Chef or higher position
- Proven track record of creating successful menus with a focus on local ingredients
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a team
- Excellent knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and ability to enforce them in the kitchen
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality
Qualifications:
- Degree or certificate in Culinary Arts or related field preferred
- Must be fluent in English; proficiency in Portuguese is a plus
- Must have authorization to work in Lisbon
Salary: $1000 per month (negotiable based on experience)
