Contract Database Administrator (DBA) in Braga, Portugal


We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team on a contract basis in Braga, Portugal. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in database management and administration, with a strong understanding of SQL and database design principles.

Responsibilities:
- Ensure the security, integrity, and performance of company databases
- Monitor and maintain database systems to ensure reliable data access and efficient operation
- Troubleshoot and resolve any database-related issues or errors
- Develop, implement, and maintain backup and recovery procedures
- Collaborate with developers to optimize database structures for performance
- Perform regular maintenance tasks such as data purging and index rebuilding
- Keep up-to-date with new database technologies and industry trends

Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a Database Administrator or similar role
- Proficient in SQL and database design principles (e.g. normalization)
- Experience with database administration tools (e.g. SQL Server Management Studio)
- Familiarity with database security best practices
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Experience with cloud-based databases (e.g. AWS RDS)
- Knowledge of ETL processes and tools (e.g. SSIS)

Salary:
The salary for this position is 1600$ per month.

This role is located in Braga, Portugal.
