Foundry Technician
Location: Bungoma, Kenya


We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Foundry Technician to join our team in Bungoma, Kenya. As a Foundry Technician, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various foundry equipment and machinery to produce high-quality castings. Your role will involve preparing molds, melting and pouring metal, and inspecting finished products for quality control.

Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain various foundry equipment such as furnaces, ladles, and molding machines
- Prepare molds by applying coatings and sand to patterns
- Melt metals such as iron, steel, or aluminum in furnaces according to specific instructions
- Pour molten metal into molds to create castings
- Monitor and adjust furnace temperatures as needed
- Remove finished castings from molds once cooled
- Inspect finished products for any defects or imperfections using measuring tools
- Record production data such as casting weights and temperatures
- Follow safety protocols at all times to ensure a safe working environment

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or certificate in foundry technology preferred
- At least 2 years of experience working in a foundry setting operating various equipment
- Knowledge of different types of metal alloys used in casting processes
- Ability to read technical drawings and follow instructions accurately
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain quality standards under tight deadlines
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends if necessary

Salary: $1400 per month with potential for bonuses based on performance. This is a contract position with accommodation provided.
