Part-Time Librarian in Dickirch


We are in need of a skilled and experienced Part-Time Librarian to join our team at the Dickirch Public Library. As a part-time librarian, you will be responsible for assisting patrons with their research needs, managing the library collection, and promoting library programs and services.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide reference and research assistance to patrons in person, over the phone, and through email.
- Manage the library collection including selecting, cataloging, and weeding materials.
- Develop and implement engaging programs and activities for library users.
- Assist with circulation tasks such as checking materials in and out, issuing library cards, and collecting fines.
- Maintain accurate records of library transactions.
- Promote library services through outreach events and social media platforms.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure efficient operation of the library.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Library Science or related field.
- Previous experience working in a library setting is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Malayalam.
- Strong knowledge of information resources, research techniques, and reference tools.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Proficient computer skills including experience with integrated library systems.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

We offer a competitive salary of 1700$ per month for this part-time position. This role does not include accommodation but we can assist with finding suitable housing options. We also provide free visa sponsorship and airfare for our international employees.
