Pastry Chef
A renowned hotel in Nizwa is seeking a talented and experienced Pastry Chef to join our team. As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating and preparing a variety of desserts, pastries, and bread items for our guests. You will also be in charge of managing inventory, monitoring food costs, and maintaining the highest standards of food quality and presentation. The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of experience as a Pastry Chef in a high-end restaurant or hotel. A degree or certification in Culinary Arts is preferred. The salary for this position is $1400 per month.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and prepare a wide range of desserts, pastries, and bread items
- Develop new recipes and menu items based on seasonal ingredients
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure proper stock rotation to minimize waste
- Manage food costs by controlling portion sizes and minimizing food waste
- Maintain the highest standards of food quality, taste, and presentation
- Train pastry staff on new techniques and recipes
- Collaborate with other chefs to plan menus that incorporate pastry items
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a Pastry Chef in a high-end restaurant or hotel
- Degree or certification in Culinary Arts preferred
- Knowledge of different pastry techniques, including baking, decorating, chocolate work etc.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate staff
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
