Pastry Chef
We are seeking a talented and experienced Pastry Chef to join our team in Nakuru, Canada. Our ideal candidate should have a passion for creating delicious and visually appealing pastries, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment. In this role, you will be responsible for creating new pastry recipes and managing the production and presentation of all pastry items.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the head chef to plan and execute pastry menus
- Prepare and bake various types of pastries, including cakes, cookies, pies, and tarts
- Decorate pastries using different techniques such as icing, glazing, and piping
- Ensure all pastries are presented in an attractive manner
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies when needed
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards at all times
- Train and supervise junior pastry chefs
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of different pastry types, techniques, ingredients, and equipment
- Creative mindset with an eye for detail
- Excellent time management skills to meet production deadlines
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Knowledge of food safety regulations
