Sous Chef
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team in Al-Rayyan. As the Sous Chef, you will assist the Head Chef in managing all aspects of the kitchen, including food preparation, menu planning, and staff management. The ideal candidate will have a passion for culinary excellence and a creative approach to creating delicious dishes. You must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure. As our restaurant caters to both local and foreign guests, fluency in English is required. Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience working with Filipino cuisine.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in menu planning and food preparation
- Ensure that all dishes are prepared according to recipes and presented attractively
- Supervise kitchen staff and ensure they adhere to food safety standards
- Train new kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and procedures
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen at all times
- Collaborate with other team members to create new menu items
- Handle customer complaints regarding food quality or service promptly
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of experience as a Sous Chef or similar role
- Formal culinary training preferred
- Knowledge of Filipino cuisine is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written (English proficiency required)
- Strong leadership skills and ability to work well under pressure
- Familiarity with food safety regulations
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 30 pounds
Salary: $1100/month (negotiable based on experience)
