Network and Systems Administrator

We are hiring a skilled Network and Systems Administrator to join our team in Almada! As a Network and Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our company's network infrastructure and computer systems. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our IT systems and resolving any technical issues that arise.

Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain network equipment such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues
- Implement security measures to protect against cyber threats
- Maintain virtualized servers and storage systems
- Conduct regular backups of data to ensure data recovery in case of system failure
- Provide technical support to end-users for hardware, software, and network related issues
- Collaborate with other IT professionals to design and implement network upgrades or new systems
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in technology to make recommendations for improvements

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or relevant field
- Proven experience as a Network and Systems Administrator or similar role
- In-depth knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP) and hardware (routers, switches)
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware)
- Experience with firewall configuration and network security practices
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to quickly resolve technical issues
- Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical colleagues
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Salary: $1000/month (negotiable based on experience)

Location: Almada, Portugal (local candidates preferred)

Type: Contract (6 months initially with possibility for extension)

Travel: This position may require occasional travel within the city for on-site support.
