Preservation Architect
We are seeking a talented Preservation Architect to join our team in Karachi. As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for preserving and restoring historical buildings and sites while following strict conservation standards. You will work closely with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the preservation of important cultural and historical landmarks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct site visits and assessments of historical buildings and sites
- Create detailed reports on the condition of the structures and propose preservation plans
- Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and other professionals to develop restoration plans that adhere to conservation standards
- Monitor and supervise restoration work to ensure it is carried out according to the approved plans
- Review and approve material selections for restoration projects
- Prepare cost estimates for preservation projects
- Keep up-to-date with industry developments, trends, and best practices in preservation architecture
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a related field
- Proven experience in preservation architecture or historic preservation projects (experience with government agencies or non-profit organizations is a plus)
- Deep understanding of conservation standards and techniques
- Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders
- Attention to detail and ability to produce accurate reports and drawings
- Proficiency in relevant software programs such as AutoCAD, Revit, Photoshop, etc.
