Smelter Operator

A smelter operator is responsible for operating and maintaining furnaces used in the extraction of metal from ore. They monitor the smelting process, adjust temperature and chemical levels, and ensure proper functioning of equipment. The ideal candidate for this role should have a strong understanding of metallurgy and experience in furnace operation. They should also possess physical stamina and attention to detail to perform their duties effectively.

Responsibilities:
- Monitor the smelting process and adjust furnace temperature and chemical levels as needed
- Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain furnaces, including loading materials, monitoring gauges, and performing regular maintenance
- Follow safety protocols and wear protective gear at all times
- Record production data and report any issues or abnormalities to supervisor
- Maintain a clean work area by disposing of waste materials properly
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operation of the smelting process

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in metallurgy is preferred
- Proven experience as a smelter operator or similar role
- Knowledge of metallurgy principles and understanding of furnace operation
- Physical stamina to withstand long periods of standing, bending, and lifting heavy objects
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Ability to work in a hot and noisy environment while wearing protective gear
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team setting

Location: This job is located in Nairobi but is open to Filipinos who are willing to relocate.

Salary: The salary for this position starts at $900 per month but may vary based on experience.
