Interpreter (Part-time)
Location: Svalbard, Norway


We are seeking a skilled Interpreter to join our team on a part-time basis. As an Interpreter, you will be responsible for providing accurate and efficient interpretation services for clients in various settings. Your main duties will include listening to, understanding, and translating spoken or written communication from one language to another. You should have excellent communication skills in your native language as well as fluency in at least one other language. A biometric passport is required for this position. Salary: $1500 per month (part-time)
Requirements:
- Fluency in at least two languages, including your native language
- Strong communication and active listening skills
- Excellent memory and concentration abilities
- Familiarity with different cultures and customs
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Biometric passport

Responsibilities:
- Listen carefully to spoken or written communication and interpret accurately into the target language(s)
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
- Provide culturally appropriate interpretation services in various settings such as meetings, appointments, or conferences
- Use specialized dictionaries and reference materials to ensure accuracy of translations
- Relay style and tone of speaker's words accurately in the target language(s)
- Adapt quickly to different dialects, accents, and non-verbal cues
- Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues to clarify meaning or terminology during interpretation process
