Heavy Equipment Operator

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team in Svalbard. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various types of heavy equipment, such as bulldozers, excavators, and loaders. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of heavy equipment operations and safety protocols.

Responsibilities:
- Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently in various weather conditions
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning
- Read and interpret construction plans to accurately complete tasks
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations
- Complete daily reports on equipment usage and maintenance

Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as a heavy equipment operator
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to work full-time, including weekends if necessary
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Basic knowledge of construction plans and drawings
- Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 pounds

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience operating multiple types of heavy equipment
- Certification in heavy equipment operation or related field
- Knowledge of local safety regulations
- Familiarity with GPS technology for precision work
