Senior Accountant

We are a leading accounting firm in Svalbard seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department
- Manage financial transactions and reporting, including accounts payable and receivable, budgeting, and forecasting
- Prepare tax returns and ensure compliance with local tax laws
- Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations for improving financial performance
- Train and mentor junior accountants
- Assist with audits and other financial reviews

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or a related field
- Experience with tax preparation and knowledge of local tax laws
- Strong proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks or SAP
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
