Pastry Chef
We are a luxury hotel located in the beautiful and remote city of Svalbard, looking for an experienced Pastry Chef to join our culinary team. As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating and preparing a variety of desserts, pastries, and breads for our hotel's restaurant and special events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and execute dessert menus for the restaurant, ensuring high-quality and visually appealing dishes
- Prepare baked goods such as breads, pastries, cakes, and other desserts
- Decorate pastries using different icing techniques and garnishes
- Maintain accurate inventory of pastry ingredients and supplies
- Train and supervise junior pastry chefs and kitchen staff

Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Pastry Chef in a high-end restaurant or hotel
- Culinary degree or equivalent training from a reputable institution
- Strong knowledge of different pastry techniques, including baking, decorating, and plating
- Creative flair in designing new desserts while also being able to execute classic recipes flawlessly
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate junior staff
- Excellent time management skills
- Fluent in English (knowledge of Norwegian is an asset)
Salary: Competitive salary of 1700$ per month (negotiable based on experience)
