Florist - Contract Position in Svalbard

As a Florist on a contract basis in Svalbard, your main responsibility will be to create and arrange beautiful floral arrangements for various occasions. This includes weddings, funerals, birthdays, and other special events. You will also be responsible for maintaining the freshness and quality of the flowers in the shop.

Key Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Florist
- Knowledge of different types of flowers and how to care for them
- Creative eye for design and color coordination
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
- Physically fit to lift and arrange heavy flower arrangements

Responsibilities:
- Creating and arranging floral designs according to customers' needs and preferences
- Providing recommendations on flower selection for different occasions
- Ensuring the freshness and quality of flowers in the shop by regularly watering, trimming, and cleaning them
- Maintaining inventory levels of flowers and supplies needed for arrangements
- Assisting customers with purchases and providing exceptional customer service at all times

Working Conditions:
This is a contract position with a salary of $1700 per month. You will be working in a fast-paced environment that requires attention to detail, creativity, and physical stamina. The working hours may vary depending on events and orders, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you must have at least 2 years of experience as a Florist with knowledge of different types of flowers and their care. A creative eye for design is essential along with excellent customer service skills. You must also be physically fit to lift heavy flower arrangements.

Location:
The position is based in Svalbard, a remote island located between Norway and the North Pole. While English is widely spoken on the island, knowledge of Norwegian or another Scandinavian language would be beneficial.
