Remote Database Administrator

We are a leading technology company seeking a highly skilled and experienced Remote Database Administrator to join our team. This is a contract position, offering a competitive salary of 1500$ per month. This role is fully remote and can be based in any location.

As a Remote Database Administrator, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance and repair of our company databases. Your primary focus will be ensuring the security, availability and performance of our databases. You will work closely with our development and operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve any database related issues.

To be successful in this role, you must have at least 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator with strong knowledge of database management systems, specifically SQL Server and Oracle. You must also have experience with database backup and recovery procedures, performance tuning and monitoring tools.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, maintain and repair company databases
- Ensure the security, availability and performance of our databases
- Monitor database system resources and performance
- Troubleshoot database related issues
- Develop data models to support business processes
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure smooth integration of applications with databases
- Implement disaster recovery procedures for all databases
- Perform regular database backups and ensure data integrity

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator
- Strong knowledge of database management systems (SQL Server, Oracle)
- Experience with database backup and recovery procedures
- Proficient in performance tuning and monitoring tools such as SQL Profiler or Oracle Enterprise Manager
- Experience with data modeling techniques
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills

Preferred:
- Certification in Database Administration (MCDBA or OCP)
- Experience working remotely or in a virtual team environment
