Reference Librarian


The Reference Librarian will be responsible for providing reference and research services to library patrons at our prestigious library located in Jeddah. The ideal candidate will have a passion for literature and excellent communication skills in English, making them the go-to resource for all inquiries. They should be knowledgeable about both print and electronic resources, and experienced in conducting research using various databases and search engines. This individual will also assist in collection development, cataloging, and other administrative tasks as needed. Preference will be given to Indian nationals with a valid visa.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide reference assistance to library patrons, including helping with research inquiries, finding materials, and recommending resources
- Familiarize patrons with the library's catalog and electronic resources to support their research needs
- Conduct bibliographic searches using online databases and search engines
- Assist in collection development by recommending new titles or helping weed out outdated materials
- Participate in library events such as book clubs or workshops
- Work with other staff members to maintain a welcoming atmosphere and ensure the smooth operation of the library

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience working as a librarian or in a similar role
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Knowledgeable about various online databases and search engines used for research purposes
- Familiarity with cataloging systems and procedures preferred
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Indian nationality with valid visa preferred

Salary: 1200$ per month
