Blast Furnace Technician



Our company is currently hiring for the position of Blast Furnace Technician in Nairobi, Kenya. As a Blast Furnace Technician, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining blast furnaces to produce iron or steel according to specified methods and standards. Your duties will include monitoring furnace temperature and pressure, adjusting controls to maintain proper conditions, and inspecting equipment for safety and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, strong mechanical skills, and the ability to work in a physically demanding environment. This is a full-time position with a salary of $1400 per month.

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a blast furnace worker or technician
- Knowledge of equipment operation, maintenance, and repair
- Strong mechanical skills and physical dexterity
- Ability to work in a hot, noisy, and physically demanding environment
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions
- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays if required

Responsibilities:
- Operate blast furnaces using manual controls or computer systems
- Monitor furnace temperature, pressure, and other indicators to ensure proper operation
- Adjust controls as needed to maintain desired conditions
- Inspect equipment for safety hazards or malfunctions and report any issues immediately
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning or replacing worn parts
- Assist with repairs or troubleshooting as needed
- Record production data such as temperature readings, fuel consumption, etc.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times
