Librarian - Information Specialist (Indian Nationals)



We are currently seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Librarian - Information Specialist to join our team in Akron on a contract basis. This position is open to Indian nationals, with no English language proficiency required.

As a Librarian - Information Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and organizing our library's collection of books, documents, and other materials. You will also provide reference services to patrons, assist with research inquiries, and oversee the maintenance of library technology.

Key Responsibilities:
- Organize and maintain library materials according to established systems
- Develop and implement library policies and procedures
- Provide reference services to patrons, including assisting with research inquiries
- Maintain the library's cataloging system and ensure accuracy of records
- Oversee the maintenance of library technology, including computers and databases
- Create displays and promotional materials to highlight new acquisitions or special collections
- Train staff on library procedures and assist with their professional development
- Ensure compliance with copyright laws when acquiring new materials for the library

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in a library setting
- Knowledge of cataloging systems, reference tools, and database management software
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with others
