Database Administrator
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Database Administrator to join our team in Atlanta. As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our company's databases, ensuring data security and integrity, and optimizing database performance. Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain database systems to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
- Troubleshoot database issues and provide timely resolution.
- Develop backup and recovery strategies to ensure data protection.
- Conduct regular audits of databases to identify potential risks or errors.
- Collaborate with software developers to design efficient and effective database structures.
- Install, upgrade, and configure database software as needed.
- Implement data security measures to protect against unauthorized access or data loss.
- Create user accounts and manage permissions within databases.
- Train employees on how to properly use databases as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of database management systems (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server).
- Experience with database design, development, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in SQL programming language.
- Knowledge of data backup and recovery methods.
- Experience with data security measures (e.g. encryption, access controls).
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify potential risks or errors in databases.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Certification in database administration (e.g. Oracle Certified Professional).
- Experience working with cloud-based databases (e.g. AWS, Azure).
- Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL processes.
- Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
Salary: $1100 per month
Location: Atlanta, USA
