Chef de Cuisine - Indian Cuisine
We are a 5-star hotel in Bungoma, seeking a skilled and experienced Chef de Cuisine specializing in Indian cuisine. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating authentic Indian dishes while also being able to manage and train a team of kitchen staff. As our Chef de Cuisine, you will be responsible for menu planning, food preparation, and ensuring high-quality standards are met in our restaurant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and oversee the preparation of all Indian dishes on our menu
- Develop new and innovative dishes while maintaining traditional flavors
- Train and manage kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and hygiene standards
- Ensure all food is prepared and presented according to hotel standards
- Maintain inventory levels and order necessary supplies for the kitchen
- Collaborate with other chefs to create a well-rounded menu for our guests
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Chef de Cuisine specializing in Indian cuisine
- Excellent knowledge of traditional Indian ingredients, spices, and cooking techniques
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate kitchen staff
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks at once
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Culinary degree or certification preferred
Salary: $1000 monthly
Location: Bungoma, Kenya (open to candidates of any nationality)
