Shaper - Woodworking Specialist in Mombasa, Kenya



We are seeking a skilled Shaper with experience in woodworking to join our team in Mombasa, Kenya. As a Shaper, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality wooden products, using various tools and techniques to shape and mold the wood into desired forms. This is a contract job and is suitable for men of any nationality.

Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a variety of woodworking tools, including saws, planers, and sanders
- Read and interpret blueprints or design plans to determine specifications for shaping wood
- Use precision measuring tools to ensure accuracy and quality of finished products
- Select appropriate wood materials for each project based on strength and durability requirements
- Shape the wood using hand tools or machines according to design specifications
- Sand and finish surfaces of the wood products to create a smooth and polished appearance
- Inspect finished products for defects or imperfections and make necessary repairs or adjustments
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety protocols at all times

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in carpentry or woodworking preferred
- Proven experience as a Shaper or similar role in woodworking; portfolio of previous projects is an advantage
- Proficient in using various woodworking tools and equipment
- Knowledge of different types of wood materials and their properties
- Ability to read blueprints or design plans accurately
- Strong attention to detail with excellent hand-eye coordination
- Physical strength and stamina to work with heavy machinery and lift heavy objects as needed

Salary:
The salary for this position is 1400$ per month.
