Library Assistant - Doha, Qatar


We are urgently hiring a Library Assistant to join our team in Doha, Qatar. As a Library Assistant, you will be responsible for providing support to the Librarian in managing the library's day-to-day operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for books and knowledge, and who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with cataloging and classifying library materials using the Dewey Decimal System
- Check-in and check-out books and other materials to library patrons
- Provide reference services to library users, helping them locate resources and answering basic research questions
- Help maintain the organization and cleanliness of the library shelves and workspaces
- Assist with organizing and promoting library events, such as book clubs or author talks
- Process new materials for circulation, including labeling, covering, and stamping books
- Help monitor library inventory levels and assist with ordering new materials as needed

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field is preferred
- Previous experience working in a library setting is a plus
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse patrons
- Proficient in using computer systems for cataloging and record keeping
- Fluent in English; knowledge of other languages is an asset

Salary:
