Metal Fabricator
Location: Svalbard, Norway
We are searching for a skilled Metal Fabricator to join our team in Svalbard. As a Metal Fabricator, you will be responsible for creating and repairing metal structures using various equipment and techniques. This is a full-time position suitable for men with previous experience in metalworking.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to plan and execute metal fabrication projects
- Operate various machinery including saws, shears, drills, grinders, and welders to cut, shape, and join metal pieces
- Use hand tools such as hammers, chisels, and files to shape and smooth metal pieces
- Measure and mark dimensions on metal pieces accurately
- Inspect materials for defects or imperfections before beginning fabrication process
- Ensure all safety procedures are followed while operating equipment and handling materials
- Collaborate with other team members to complete projects within deadlines
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical training in metalworking preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in metal fabrication or similar role
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately
- Proficient in using various tools and equipment necessary for metal fabrication
- Strong understanding of different types of metals and their properties
- Excellent physical dexterity and strength to handle heavy materials and operate machinery
- Attention to detail and ability to work with precision
- Biometric passport required for security clearance
We offer a competitive salary of 1800$ per month for this position. This is a full-time job without accommodation provided. However, we can assist with finding suitable housing options in the area.
