Junior Librarian


We are hiring a Junior Librarian to join our team at a prestigious library in Dubai. As a Junior Librarian, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Librarian in managing the library's collection, organizing and cataloging books and other materials, and providing excellent customer service to library patrons.

Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing the library's collection, including acquisition, cataloging, and shelving of materials
- Organize and maintain the library's physical and digital collections
- Provide excellent customer service to library patrons by answering questions, recommending materials, and assisting with research
- Assist in planning and executing library programs and events
- Keep up-to-date with current trends in literature and technology to make informed recommendations to patrons
- Help maintain a clean and orderly environment in the library
- Collaborate with other librarians to develop strategies for improving library services

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Previous experience working in a library setting preferred but not required
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team
- Knowledge of current trends in literature, technology, and information resources
- Familiarity with standard cataloging systems such as Dewey Decimal or Library of Congress classification
- Fluency in English; knowledge of other languages is a plus

Salary: AED 1700 per month

Location: Dubai (Indian nationals preferred)
