Pastry Chef
We are hiring an experienced Pastry Chef to join our culinary team in Bungoma. As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating and preparing a variety of desserts, pastries and baked goods. You will also be in charge of managing inventory, ordering supplies and maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.
Responsibilities:
- Create and bake a wide variety of desserts, pastries and other baked goods
- Develop new recipes and menu items to keep up with current trends and customer preferences
- Manage inventory and order supplies as needed
- Ensure all food items are prepared according to recipes, quality standards and presentation guidelines
- Maintain clean work area and adhere to food safety guidelines at all times
- Train new employees on pastry techniques, recipes and procedures
- Collaborate with other chefs to create cohesive menus that complement each other's dishes
- Monitor portion control, waste control and cost management for pastry department
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or relevant role
- In-depth knowledge of different baking techniques, ingredients, equipment and measurements
- Creativity and passion for creating visually appealing desserts that taste delicious
- Strong attention to detail with excellent time management skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead a team effectively
Salary: 1700$
Location: Bungoma (Preference for Indian nationality)
