Head Pastry Chef
We are seeking a talented and experienced Head Pastry Chef to lead our pastry team at our upscale restaurant in Akron. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and implementing our pastry menu, managing inventory and ordering supplies, training and supervising pastry staff, and ensuring high quality and consistent desserts for our guests.
As the Head Pastry Chef, you must have a passion for creating delicious desserts that not only taste amazing but also look visually appealing. You must have a strong understanding of flavor combinations, baking techniques, and presentation. A creative mind and excellent attention to detail are essential in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a seasonal dessert menu that showcases creativity and quality ingredients
- Manage inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Train new pastry team members on recipes, techniques, and proper food safety procedures
- Oversee the daily production of desserts to ensure consistency in taste and presentation
- Monitor food costs to meet budget targets without compromising on quality
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef to create special desserts for events or promotions
Requirements:
- Proven work experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and flavor profiles
- Ability to lead a team with excellent communication skills
- Familiarity with food safety regulations
- Creative mindset with an eye for detail
Salary: $1600/month (negotiable based on experience)
Location: Akron (willingness to relocate is preferred)
