Junior Information Security Analyst


We are seeking a Junior Information Security Analyst to join our growing team in Akron. As a member of our information security department, you will play a crucial role in protecting our company's sensitive data and systems from cyber threats. This is an entry-level position, making it suitable for recent graduates or individuals with limited experience in the field.

Responsibilities:
- Monitor and analyze network traffic for potential security breaches
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
- Develop and implement security policies and procedures
- Investigate security incidents and provide recommendations for remediation
- Stay updated on the latest cyber threats and industry best practices
- Assist with security awareness training for employees

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems
- Understanding of encryption algorithms and secure coding practices
- Familiarity with compliance standards such as PCI-DSS or HIPAA
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Good communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
The following qualifications are not required but would be considered an advantage:
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or CISSP
- Experience with SIEM tools
- Previous internship or work experience in information security

Salary: $1800 per month (negotiable based on qualifications)
Location: Akron (remote work not available)
