Head Chef for Indian Cuisine Restaurant in Mombasa

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Head Chef to lead our Indian cuisine restaurant in the vibrant city of Mombasa. As an Executive Chef, you will be responsible for creating innovative and authentic Indian dishes, managing kitchen operations, and ensuring high-quality food and service for our guests. You must have a strong understanding of Indian spices, techniques, and flavors, as well as experience managing a team and maintaining food safety standards. This is a full-time position with a salary of 1100$ per month.

Responsibilities:
- Develop new menu items that reflect the diverse flavors of Indian cuisine
- Create and maintain standard recipes to ensure consistency in quality and presentation
- Manage food costs by monitoring inventory levels and minimizing waste
- Train and supervise kitchen staff to maintain high standards of food preparation and presentation
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Collaborate with restaurant management to plan special events or promotions
- Stay current with industry trends, techniques, and ingredients related to Indian cuisine

Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or Head Chef in an Indian restaurant setting
- In-depth knowledge of Indian spices, ingredients, cooking techniques, and regional variations
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively
- Excellent communication skills to work collaboratively with other staff members
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and procedures
- Flexible schedule including weekends and evenings

Preference will be given to candidates who are fluent in English and have previous experience working in Mombasa. Visa sponsorship may be provided for qualified candidates.
