Head Chef

The Head Chef will be responsible for overseeing the culinary operations of our high-end restaurant in Mombasa. They will manage a team of chefs and kitchen staff, ensuring the production of high-quality dishes and maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in a similar role, with a strong background in fine dining and a passion for creating innovative and delicious dishes. They must also possess excellent leadership skills, be able to work well under pressure, and have a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking techniques, and inventory management
- Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff to ensure consistency in food quality and presentation
- Create menus that reflect current culinary trends while also meeting dietary restrictions or preferences
- Manage food costs by monitoring portion sizes, minimizing waste, and sourcing ingredients at the best possible prices
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
- Conduct regular kitchen inspections to maintain cleanliness and organization
- Collaborate with restaurant management to plan special events or promotions
- Stay updated on industry trends and new techniques to continuously improve menu offerings

Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an Executive Chef or Head Chef in a fine dining establishment
- Diploma or degree from a recognized culinary school or equivalent experience
- Strong knowledge of different cuisines and cooking techniques
- Proficient in managing food costs without compromising quality
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train staff
- Outstanding communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Biometric passport (preferred)

Salary: $1400 per month (negotiable based on experience)

Location: Mombasa (accommodation provided)

Nationality: Open to all nationalities

Language: Fluent in English (knowledge of other languages is a plus)
