Head Pastry Chef


We are in search of a skilled and creative Head Pastry Chef to lead our pastry team at our luxury hotel in Lisbon. As the Head Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the production and presentation of all pastry items for our hotel's restaurant and events. Your main goal will be to consistently deliver high-quality, visually appealing, and delicious desserts and pastries that exceed our guests' expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain a diverse menu of pastries, desserts, and breads that align with our hotel's overall culinary concept
- Develop new recipes and techniques while also maintaining traditional favorites
- Manage inventory levels, ordering, and cost control for all pastry ingredients
- Train and supervise junior pastry chefs and kitchen staff on proper techniques and menu execution
- Collaborate with other departments such as banquets or room service to ensure timely delivery of pastry items for events or special requests
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment at all times
- Stay updated on industry trends, new techniques, and ingredients to continuously improve the quality of our pastry offerings

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Head Pastry Chef or similar role in a high-end establishment
- Degree in Culinary Arts or relevant field preferred
- In-depth knowledge of various pastry techniques, ingredients, equipment, and recipes
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to train others effectively
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Passion for creating visually appealing desserts that taste as good as they look

We offer a competitive salary of 1100$ per month plus benefits such as health insurance and paid time off. This position is based in Lisbon but we welcome candidates from all nationalities who have legal authorization to work in Portugal.
