Network and Systems Administrator

Our company is a leading technology firm located in Faro, seeking a skilled Network and Systems Administrator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining our network infrastructure and ensuring the smooth operation of our systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of networking concepts, experience with various operating systems, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. You must also possess excellent communication skills and be able to work well independently as well as in a team environment.

Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain network equipment such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise
- Perform regular maintenance tasks such as updates, backups, and security patches
- Work with other IT professionals to design and implement new systems or upgrades to existing ones
- Provide technical support to end-users for network or system-related issues
- Maintain documentation of network topology, configurations, and procedures
- Keep abreast of new technologies and make recommendations for improvements to our network infrastructure

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role
- Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
- Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues in a timely manner
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to work well independently as well as in a team environment
