Head Pastry Chef

Our 5-star luxury hotel in Funchal is seeking a talented and experienced Head Pastry Chef to join our team. As a Head Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our pastry department, including creating and executing dessert menus, managing inventory and ordering supplies, and training and supervising pastry staff. The ideal candidate will have a passion for pastry and a strong creative vision, as well as excellent leadership skills. This is a full-time position with a salary of $1100 per month.

Responsibilities:
- Create and execute innovative dessert menus that reflect our hotel's high standards
- Manage inventory and order supplies to ensure the availability of necessary ingredients at all times
- Train and supervise pastry staff, providing guidance and support as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the pastry kitchen, following all health and safety regulations
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate dessert offerings for special events or catering orders
- Stay up-to-date on current industry trends and techniques to continuously improve our pastry program

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role in a high-end establishment
- Strong knowledge of different pastry techniques, including baking, decorating, chocolate work, etc.
- Creative mindset with the ability to develop new ideas for desserts
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate a team
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- In-depth knowledge of sanitation principles and food handling regulations
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
