Job Title: Pastry Chef - Funchal, Portugal



Our busy and highly-rated restaurant in Funchal, Portugal is seeking a skilled and creative Pastry Chef to join our team. As a Pastry Chef, you will have the opportunity to showcase your expertise in creating delicious and visually stunning desserts that will satisfy our customers' sweet tooth.

Responsibilities:
- Create and design new dessert menu items, as well as maintain and update existing ones
- Prepare and bake a variety of desserts, including cakes, pastries, tarts, and other sweet treats
- Decorate desserts using various techniques to create visually appealing presentations
- Ensure all desserts are prepared and presented according to our high-quality standards
- Monitor inventory levels of pastry ingredients and supplies, placing orders as needed
- Train and supervise junior pastry chefs in the kitchen
- Collaborate with other chefs to create cohesive menus for special events or themed nights
- Maintain a clean and organized work station at all times

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role in a high-volume restaurant or hotel setting
- Extensive knowledge of different dessert techniques and trends
- Ability to create both classic and modern pastry dishes with a focus on flavor, texture, and presentation
- Strong time management skills to ensure timely delivery of dessert orders during busy shifts
- Attention to detail for precise measurements in recipes
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts or related field preferred but not required
- Minimum 3 years of experience working as a Pastry Chef
- Proficient in English (Portuguese language skills are a plus)

Salary: 1000$ per month (negotiable based on experience)
