Head Pastry Chef
We are seeking a talented and experienced Head Pastry Chef to join our team and lead our pastry department. As the Head Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all pastry operations, creating new and innovative dessert menus, training and managing pastry staff, and ensuring high-quality products and services are delivered to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create new and unique dessert menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and current trends
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the pastry department, including ordering supplies, managing inventory, and maintaining equipment
- Train, mentor, and manage pastry staff to ensure high standards of quality and service are met
- Ensure all food safety and sanitation standards are followed in the pastry department
- Collaborate with other departments to create cohesive menus for events or special occasions
- Manage budget for the pastry department and work to minimize costs while maintaining quality
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and innovations in pastry techniques
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role
- In-depth knowledge of various baking techniques, ingredients, equipment, and recipes
- Creativity in developing new dessert menus
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate a team
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail with a passion for delivering high-quality products
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Education/Experience:
- Degree or certification in Culinary Arts or Pastry Arts preferred but not required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role
Salary: $1200/month (negotiable based on experience)
Location: Balzers (Egyptian or Kenyan candidates preferred)
Language Requirements: Fluency in English (both written and spoken) is required.
