Head Chef



We are seeking a talented and experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team at a busy and popular restaurant in Eldoret, Kenya. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating delicious and visually stunning dishes using fresh, local ingredients. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the kitchen, including menu planning, ordering and managing inventory, training and supervising staff, and ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation. This is a contract job with a competitive salary of 1000$.

Responsibilities:
- Create innovative and appealing menus that cater to our diverse clientele
- Source high-quality ingredients from local suppliers
- Train and supervise kitchen staff to ensure consistent quality of dishes
- Manage inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area
- Monitor food costs and minimize waste without compromising on quality
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
- Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new techniques into our menu offerings

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a fast-paced restaurant environment
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire your team
- Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques, ingredients, flavor profiles, and plating presentations
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality
- Excellent communication skills to effectively delegate tasks to kitchen staff
- A creative mindset with a passion for experimenting with new flavors and dishes
- Able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays if needed
