Instrument Technician - Eldoret, Kenya
As an Instrument Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing various types of instruments and equipment used in industrial processes. You will work with a variety of tools and equipment to troubleshoot issues and perform routine maintenance tasks. This is a contract position based in Eldoret, Kenya with accommodation provided.
Responsibilities:
- Install new instruments and equipment according to specifications
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on existing instruments
- Troubleshoot and repair any malfunctions or issues with instruments
- Calibrate instruments to ensure accuracy
- Keep detailed records of work performed and any changes made to equipment
- Communicate with other team members to coordinate work and share knowledge
- Stay updated on industry developments and new technologies related to instrumentation
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Instrument Technician in an industrial setting
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Proficient in using various hand tools and test equipment
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Physical stamina for working in various environments (e.g., outdoors, confined spaces)
- Flexibility to work on-call or overtime as needed
Preferred:
- Vocational or technical degree in instrumentation or related field
- Experience working with process control systems (e.g., PLCs)
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to instrumentation work
Salary:
The salary for this position is $1700 per month.
Note: This job is open to both Filipino and Kenyan candidates. English proficiency is not required for this role.
