Computer Support Specialist
As a Computer Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to users of computer systems. This includes troubleshooting hardware and software issues, installing and configuring new systems, and maintaining existing systems. You will also be expected to provide training and support to users on how to effectively use computer systems. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining network security and ensuring that all systems are up-to-date with the latest security patches. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in computer science or a related field, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure. This is a full-time position located in Funchal, Portugal with a salary of $1100 USD per month.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience in technical support or IT help desk role
- Knowledge of hardware and software troubleshooting techniques
- Familiarity with network security protocols
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with biometric passport technology is preferred but not required
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to users by troubleshooting hardware and software issues
- Install, configure, and maintain computer systems for optimal performance
- Train users on how to effectively use computer systems
- Ensure that all systems are up-to-date with the latest security patches and protocols
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues
- Maintain accurate records of all technical support requests and resolutions
- Communicate effectively with users regarding system updates or changes
- Assist with the implementation of new technologies or upgrades as needed
