Concierge Supervisor
We are a luxury hotel located in the bustling city of Nairobi, seeking an experienced Concierge Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be fluent in English and have experience working in a similar role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
As the Concierge Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of concierge staff and ensuring that our guests receive exceptional service from the moment they arrive at our hotel. Your duties will include managing guest requests, providing recommendations and information about local attractions, making reservations and arranging transportation.
To excel in this role, you must have excellent communication and customer service skills, as well as strong leadership abilities. You should also be familiar with the city of Nairobi and its surrounding areas in order to provide accurate and helpful information to our guests.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee a team of concierge staff and ensure they are providing top-notch service to our guests
- Greet guests upon arrival and assist with check-in process
- Manage guest requests for services such as restaurant reservations, transportation arrangements, or tour bookings
- Provide recommendations for local attractions and activities based on guests' interests
- Maintain knowledge of current events, attractions, restaurants, and transportation options in Nairobi
- Handle any guest complaints or issues in a professional manner
- Train new concierge staff on hotel policies and procedures
- Monitor inventory of supplies needed for concierge services
- Collaborate with other hotel departments to ensure smooth operations
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management preferred
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a Concierge or similar role within the hospitality industry
- Fluent in English; knowledge of other languages is a plus
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on providing exceptional experiences for guests
- Excellent leadership abilities with the ability to motivate and train staff
- Knowledge of the city of Nairobi and its surrounding areas
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs
