Head Chef

The Head Chef will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations in our busy restaurant located in Mombasa. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Malayalee cuisine and experience leading a team of kitchen staff. They must have excellent communication skills and be able to work well under pressure. The Head Chef will also be responsible for creating new dishes, managing inventory and maintaining food safety standards. This is a full-time position with a salary of 1000$ per month.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee all kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating
- Develop new dishes and ensure that they meet quality standards
- Train and supervise kitchen staff, including scheduling shifts and delegating tasks
- Manage inventory and order supplies as needed
- Maintain food safety standards and ensure proper sanitation practices are followed
- Collaborate with restaurant management to create menu items that appeal to our customers
- Monitor kitchen budget and control costs by minimizing waste

Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a Chef, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
- Extensive knowledge of Malayalee cuisine and techniques
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train kitchen staff
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Knowledge of food safety regulations
- Ability to create new dishes while also maintaining traditional recipes
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree or certification in Culinary Arts or related field
- Previous experience working in high-volume restaurants
- Knowledge of inventory management systems
