Temporary Executive Chef
The temporary Executive Chef will play a key role in managing the culinary operations of our restaurant in Lisbon. This position is ideal for a skilled and experienced chef who is looking for a short-term opportunity to showcase their talents, gain valuable experience, and work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation
- Create new and innovative menu items, taking into consideration seasonal ingredients and customer preferences
- Ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest quality standards and consistently meet customer expectations
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and maintain a clean and organized kitchen
- Train and supervise kitchen staff to ensure proper food handling techniques and adherence to safety standards
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and address any customer concerns or special requests
- Maintain accurate records of food costs, inventory levels, and kitchen equipment maintenance schedules
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and make recommendations for menu updates or improvements
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a high-volume restaurant setting
- Extensive knowledge of various cooking techniques, cuisines, and ingredients
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train kitchen staff
- Excellent organization abilities with attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Fluent in English (knowledge of Portuguese is a plus)
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
Salary:
The salary for this temporary position is $1600 per month.
Location:
This job is located in Lisbon. Candidates must have their own visa or be legally allowed to work in Portugal.
