Pastry Chef
We are in search of a talented and creative Pastry Chef to join our team at our luxury hotel in Faro, Portugal. As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating delicious and visually appealing pastries and desserts for our guests. You will work closely with the kitchen team to develop new recipes and ensure the highest quality of pastries are served to our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create a variety of pastries, desserts, and breads that meet the standards of our hotel
- Develop new recipes and flavor combinations
- Maintain inventory of pastry ingredients and supplies
- Ensure proper storage and labeling of all pastry items
- Train and supervise junior pastry chefs
- Monitor food costs and maintain budget for the pastry department
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and functioning
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and techniques
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role in a high-end establishment
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred
- Excellent knowledge of various pastry techniques, ingredients, and equipment
- Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Creativity and attention to detail
- Strong leadership skills
- Fluent in English (Portuguese is a plus)
