Entry-Level Metal Worker
We are seeking an entry-level Metal Worker to join our team in Akron, Ohio. As a Metal Worker, you will be responsible for fabricating and repairing metal structures and products according to blueprints and specifications. This is a great opportunity for someone with little to no experience in the field who is looking to start a career in metalworking.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and diagrams to determine job requirements
- Measure, mark, and cut metal materials using various tools such as saws, shears, and torches
- Operate machinery including drills, grinders, and welders to fabricate metal parts
- Assemble and fit metal components using welding techniques such as MIG, TIG or arc welding
- Inspect completed products for quality assurance before final delivery
- Repair damaged metal structures or parts by welding or brazing
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and machinery used in metalworking
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs)
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Willingness to learn new skills on the job
Salary:
Starting salary for this entry-level position is $1200 per month. Salary may increase with experience.
