Librarian Assistant


We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Librarian Assistant to join our team at the public library in Remish. As a Librarian Assistant, you will work closely with the Librarian in managing the library's collection, assisting patrons with their inquiries, and maintaining the overall organization of the library.

Responsibilities:
- Assist patrons with locating and checking out books, magazines, and other materials
- Provide information and assistance to patrons regarding library services and resources
- Organize and maintain the library's collection by shelving books, cataloging new materials, and weeding out outdated or damaged items
- Assist with planning and implementing library programs and events for all ages
- Conduct basic reference searches for patrons using online databases or print materials
- Monitor library equipment such as computers, printers, and photocopiers to ensure they are in working order
- Collaborate with other staff members to develop displays and promote new materials or services
- Perform routine administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, processing fines, and issuing library cards

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field is preferred
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills
- Proficiency in computer systems used for database management
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Knowledge of current trends in literature is an asset

Salary:
This position offers a salary of 1000$ per month.

Location:
This position is located in Remish. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada or have their own valid visa.

Experience:
No previous experience is required for this position. However, previous experience working in a library setting or customer service role is considered an asset.
